Happy Saint Patrick's Day

Here are all of the things I love that are Irish. Number one on my list is Ireland. I wish I could go. It would be my dream vacation. I like the old Irish castles, the Irish lyre (it used to be the symbol of my old sorority - back in the day.) I love Irish lace, rocks worn smooth by water, the song Danny Boy, Maureen O'Hara, ancient Irish tunes, all shades of green, shamrocks, the Irish brogue, and those cool tall hats on all of the cards.

So today if you are part Irish (I'm about an eighth,) or none at all, have a wonderful day.

  1. Same to you! I've heard amazing things about Ireland. It's definitely some place I'd love to visit sometime. Hopefully one day we will both make it there.

  2. And a top 'o the evenin' to ye, Nancy! I'm a little Irish on my dad's side. And I love all those things you listed, too. Some day we'll be strolling over those lovely Irish hilltops...

  3. I'm not Irish (Lithuanian and Polish) but I do love an Irish accent. :)

  4. I'm with you. Let's go to Ireland! I've always wanted to!

  5. Happy day after St. Patrick's Day to you Nancy :-)

I hope you had a great one :-)

    BTW, was John Wayne Irish?

  6. Hi Nancy -

I'm not Irish, but I love some of the Irish productions we've seen in recent years.

    Susan :)

  7. I've longed to go to Ireland for many years, too. I'm one-fourth Irish--Grandma was a Kelly.

We just watched Spencer's Mountain with Maureen O'Hara, and I loved it! It's the movie "The Waltons" was based on.

  8. Jeanette - I saw that movie when I was a teenager. I had a crush on the lead actor who was used in a lot of Disney movies at the time. It was a great movie. Loved "The Waltons," too.

  9. Wasn't that movie P.S. I Love You set partially in Ireland countryside? I remember thinking how breathtaking it was and that I'd like to go someday. The best part about taking the Eurostar from England to Paris was seeing the French countryside...but I only got to see that from the train window, unfortunately.
