"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." Heb. 11:1 NKJ
Awhile ago, I was on my way home on the freeway and got caught in construction. One lane traffic slowed me down for about six miles. Ahead of me in bumper to bumper traffic was a huge vehicle carrying new cars . A white car was aimed right at my windshield the whole way. I had to have faith in that little chain (only as good as its weakest link,) holding that white car. Though the chain was invisible, I had faith. A non-believer might credit the chain. My faith was rather in an invisible God who loves me, called me and told me He had a purpose for my life. Soon the construction ended and I went around the problem and sailed home.
Just what I needed, dear friend!! THANK YOU!!

I never thought of that as faith before, but you are right--every good gift comes from God, and HE kept that chain from breaking, didn't He?
ReplyDeleteLove you, sis,

So I am not the only one who thinks about that?? LOL I always hate to be behind a car hauler:)
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy -
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing a preacher tell a story about a rough plane ride. The person next to him was scared. He reassured her they'd get there safe because God directed him to speak at this conference.
Someone in Scripture also had a similar experience. Hmm, I think Paul was his name. The Lord told him he was going to Rome. Not even a shipwreck could stop him.
Blessings,
Susan :)
Those trucks make me crazy. It seriously looks like the cars are going to roll off at any moment. I suppose it is faith in God that keeps us driving behind them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your wonderful comments. They greatly encourage me to go on with devotionals.
ReplyDeleteI am so blessed to see those chains too. If we added up all of the unsung miracles in our day, we'd be overwhelmed.
